The Herbs and Spices Tea Drink

This tasty beverage contains the benefits of the warming herbs and spices without the caffeine. I enjoy rooibos or chamomile for this recipe. These herbs and spices aid the digestive fires, stimulate the circulatory system, and keep the body warm. You can also double the recipe for a larger batch and keep it in the fridge for 3 to 4 days.

SERVES 4

Ingredients
1 cup water
2 cups raw pastured milk or your favorite nut milk
1 teaspoon loose rooibos or any other desired tea
3 pieces of cinnamon bark
2 inches fresh ginger
3 cardamom pods
2 cloves

Instructions
1. Add the water, milk, and all of the dry spices to a medium saucepan (leaving the honey out).
2. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil and then reduce the heat. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon so the milk does not burn on the bottom of pan.
3. Simmer for 15 minutes.
4. Remove the chai from the heat, strain it with a fine mesh sieve, ad the honey to taste, and enjoy immediately.
