1 lb grass-fed ground beef
1 lb Italian sausage
1 onion, diced
1 bell pepper, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
Salt & pepper, to taste
1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes with juice
½ (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 ¾ cups beef stock or bone broth
2 tsp chili powder
2 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Optional toppings: Cilantro, green onion, avocado
Melt olive oil over medium heat in a large pan or cast iron skillet.
Once it's melted, add the onion and pepper and saute.
Add ground beef and sausage and cook until both are browned and no pink remains.
Transfer the mixture to the slow cooker with the rest of the ingredients and spices.
Stir well and cook on high heat for 3 hours or on low heat for 6 hours.
